MATCH PLAY COMPETITION
WHY CHOOSE A MATCH PLAY PROGRAM?
The benefits of our MATCH PLAY programs are:
- Children "Learn through Play" in a safe and nurturing environment
- This is an internal competition at Greenacres Tennis Club so all games are played at the same location and same time each week
- Program runs for 6 weeks each term. If cancelled due to weather, there is up to 2 catch up matches on offer
- Red Ball Match Play competitions are not readily available at most clubs
- Orange Ball can now be played on Friday afternoons and/or Saturday mornings. Saturday is an association based competition with HOME and AWAY games.
- Keeps children active year round and is inexpensive
- You do NOT have to have coaching lessons at Matt Owens Tennis School to be able to participate in this competition. We are happy for ALL children wanting to play tennis to join our Match Play program
RED BALL MATCH PLAY
Red Ball Match Play is a competition for children in the Red Stage of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program. It is aimed at 6 to 9 year olds.
If your child can drop hit a ball to serve and hold a short rally, then they are ready for this program.
Competition is at Greenacres Tennis Club Friday afternoons from 4pm until 4.45pm.
Children will learn through play and parental assistance is required.
Children will play a series of timed matches each week against different opponents.
ORANGE BALL MATCH PLAY
Orange Ball Match Play is a competition for 8+ years for children in the Orange Stage of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program.
Competition is at Greenacres Tennis Club Friday afternoons from 5pm and will finish no later than 6.15pm.
Teams are made up of 2 players who will play a doubles match and a singles match each week. Parental assistance required.
